Anticipating the Quadruple Coming of Christ
- Written by randyfronek
The Forty Hours Devotion will be the highlight of this year’s Advent Retreat, which is entitled: Anticipating the Quadruple Coming of Christ.
All three of our Churches will sponsor hours of Adoration as we express our gratitude to God the Father for sending His Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ, to break the gates of Hell, walk for 40 hours through an enormously large city, and steal the good souls for His Father’s Kingdom.
The hours of Adoration will be:
Wednesday, December 14th at Our Lady of Perpetual Help from 9:00am to 9:00pm
Thursday, December 15th at Our Lady of Perpetual Help from 9:00am to 9:00pm
Friday, December 16th at St. Patrick Church from 8:30am to 6:30pm
Saturday, December 17th at St. Mary of the Assumption from 9:00am to 3:00pm
Please sign up for an hour adoration at your Church by either filling out the sign-up sheet at the back of Church or registering on-line at our parish website: olphmarystpatrick.com (below)
A retreat talk will be given during the first hour of Adoration on the 14th, 16th, and 17th; and this talk will be repeated the last hour of Adoration on the same evenings.
These talks will explain to us, the four comings of Christ in our life and how we can be prepared for each of His comings, because the last thing we want to be is “unprepared” for the Lord’s appearance to us.
On Thursday, we will have our Communal Penance Service at 6:30 pm in Sublette. There will be several priests available to hear our Advent Confession, so that we may prepare our hearts for Christmas!
Remember the more you put into a retreat – the more the Holy Spirit will gift you with. Try to attend as many talks as you can, sign-up for at least one hour of adoration, and make a good Confession; and I guarantee you will have a Blessed Christmas Season!
Yours on the Path
Fr. Randy
